8. Cervantes 

Cervantes is known for the Nambung National Park which highlights natures modern geologic phenomena The Pinnacles. Walk among these way-out rock formations. 

Hint be prepared to take scores of photos. 

7. Kalbarri 

A delightful seaside holiday spot at the Mouth of the Murchison River. You could spend days here relaxing, fishing and exploring the walk trails. 

Hint visit the Kalbarri National Park to see Natures Window and the Z Bend  

6. Shark Bay 

Is a described World Heritage Site described by UNESCO highlighting land forms, flora and fauna and ancient living fossils Stromatolites.

Hint must visit the Stromatolites at Hamlin Pool

Carnarvon 

Carnarvon the regional hub in the Coral coast’s north and is essential for providing services for the region. The township lies at the mouth of the Gascoyne River and supports horticultural and fishing industries and outback stations.

Hint

Visit Carnarvon Space and Technology Museum. Carnarvon Tracking Station and the OTC Satellite Earth Station. The station was built to support NASA’s Gemini, Apollo and Skylab programs

4. Exmouth 

Was founded on defence industries during WW2 with amazing stories to tell.  Today Eco Tourism is main focus of the economy of the remote community. 

Hint

Experience Cape Range and Ningaloo Reef. Explore Charles Knife Canyon, Turquoise Bay to snorkel over the coral, Yardie Creek.

3. Onslow

A delightful laid back historic town on the coast. People visit for its charm, fishing and relaxing. Main industries Salt mining and Gas.  Historically Sheep Stations, Pearling Industries.

Hint

Visit old Goods Shed Museum, see what life was like for the pioneers who settled the old town which was gazetted in 1883, and moved to its present site in 1925. 

For the adventurous visit old town to see the ruins of the old jail and courthouse, wander around the old town.

2. Karratha

Is a Pilbara city nearby to the port of Dampier which exports Iron Ore from Tom Price, Natural Gas on Burrup Peninsular and Salt.

Hint.

A very pretty region to explore. A must visit are the petroglyph’s Rock Engravings on Burrup Peninsula estimated to be around  10,000 indigenous rock engravings.

1. Broome

Broome is a beach resort town in the Kimberley region. Historically Broome had a booming pearling industry. Today it is a holiday centre and the gate way to the Kimberley region.

Hint 

Drive on to Cable Beach late afternoon and enjoy a sunset drink watching the camels on Cable Beach visit ancient Gantheaume Point to see dinosaur tracks revealed in the beach’s red rocks at low tide.
