Throughout its life, the building has been an Aircraft Observation Post during World War II, a Child Care Centre and the Bank of New South Wales before it finally became known as Bankwest.

Narembeen is a small wheat and sheep farming community. With a population of around 800 people. The locals say it is rare not to know someone as you walk down the Main Street.
Visit The Grain Discovery Centre a modern, interpretive centre focusing on grain growing in Western Australia. Learn about farming in Narembeen and browse the brilliant visual and interpretive displays.
Narembeen is the home of sculpture Jordan Sprigg. There are four of his sculptures positioned around town for you to pose and to take pictures.
Jordan uses recycled metals found from retired machinery, scrap heaps and clearance sales. Some of the pieces found dating over 100 years old and used by the earliest settlers of Western Australia.
Visit Wave Rock in the late afternoon light for terrific photos of the low sun filtering on the Wave Rock face.
Wave Rock was formed before the age of dinosaurs, about 2.7 billion years ago. It is one of the oldest rocks in the world.

Day 2 – Wave Rock to Kukerin
Mulka’s Cave, Gnamma Holes, Kulin “Tin Horse Highway”, Lake Grace, Cambinata Yabbies
This morning we visit The Humps, as well as visit Mulka’s cave. The name Mulka comes from an Aboriginal legend associated with the cave. Also at The Humps are Gnamma Holes, water holes in the granite rocks that were used by the Aborigines when passing through the area. Indeed, Mulka’s cave is a significant Aboriginal rock art gallery
Before we leave Hyden visit the Lace Place, Toy Soldier Museum, and Pioneer Town Museum.

Pioneer Town Museum is a fascinating exhibition of the early days of Hyden and local region.
Tour the Tin Horse Highway. The Tin Horse Highway is a laughing matter! The dusty paddocks surrounding Kulin have become a gallery of bright, quirky, community creations.
What started as an authentic community marketing campaign to promote the annual Kulin Bush Races has become one of Western Australia’s most popular drives.
At Lake Grace visit Walkers Hill Vineyard for tasting award winning wines. Walkers Wines was established in 1995 with the first acre of Shiraz vines planted. The first vintage came in 1998. Bill & Angela Walker were broad acre farmers with a farm 8km north of Lake Grace. On one patch of ironstone nothing seemed to yield very well so Bill researched to find something else to grow. With his love of wine he decided that seemed like a good alternative.
Cambinata Yabbies – fresh from dams on West Australian farms – are served in some of the finest restaurants in Australia and around the world. The family business was formed in 1990 by Mary and Michael Nenke, who ran a wheat and sheep farm near the tiny Wheatbelt town of Kukerin.
Michael’s long time hobby had been catching yabbies, but a telephone call from a friend trying to source the crustaceans for a Perth restaurant turned his pastime into a thriving business. We take guided tour of the yabby farm and sample products at Cambinata Yabbies.
Our overnight stay is a short distance away Mary’s Cottages Farm Stay.
Mary’s Farm Cottages offer an authentic Western Australian Wheatbelt rural experience.

A scene drawing threads from the fabric of everyday life in Pingrup, Evoca1’s figurative depictions of the town’s iconic Pingrup races, its Merino sheep, its people, cattle dogs and even a tractor based precisely on one found on the main street of town, all tell a story about the character of the community.

Narrikup’s cricket club is home to what is believed to be the only boundary fence in the world built from cricket bats.
The unique fence at Narrikup Cricket Club, escalated from a gate local resident Tony Poad made to honour club life member Chris Norton when he retired in 2011. A giant 8 metre cricket bat next to the clubhouse was donated to the club. It is the biggest cricket bat in the Southern Hemisphere.
Mt Barker has joined the ranks of regional towns sprucing up their town with street art. There are 8 historic wall murals to look for.

Testimonials
Private, very personal touring in style!
Sylvia was the perfect tour leader, guide, driver, historian, wildflower expert etc all rolled into one. By the end of our 12 days together Sylvia also was our friend. She was passionate and knowledgeable, had a great sense of humour and we felt we had much in common.
Great private tours
Sylvia, the owner of Luxury Outback Tours, is passionate about her business and loves showing off the beauties of Western Australia. We took 2 tours with LOT; one to Wave Rock and one to the Pinnacles. Both were well-orchestrated.
A Week of Wows!
Hi Sylvia, Kay and I would like to thankyou so much for our recent wildflower trip with you for 6 days. We saw everything and more. A very special time for us all. Everything from itinerary and accommodation was wonderful. Recommend to all we meet. Safe travels!
Terrific visit to the Pinnacles Desert
If you’re looking to take a day to visit some of WA outside of Perth, you can’t go wrong with Sylvia and Luxury Outback Tours’ trip to the unearthly Pinnacles. Our trip was a treat from start to finish, not least because Sylvia herself is outgoing, cheerful, and filled with knowledge about the region’s history, flora, and fauna. On the journeys she knew where to alert us to look for emus and pointed out many of the region’s most beautiful and bizarre plants and trees. We highly recommend Sylvia and her company for this trip and any other she might offer.
Fantastic Five Day Tour
Hi Sylvia, I must apologise for my long silence. I would like to write and say how much we enjoyed our time away with you last year. Your passion and knowledge of all the places that we went made the trip really special. I have particularly fond memories of all the flowers that we spotted – I knew that the WA flowers had a great reputation but I was unprepared for the colour and variety of them, and it was so exciting to see so many of them. You have an amazing skill in finding them. I would thoroughly recommend your tours to anyone. Your good humour, excellent preparation and knowledge, and experience meant that Peter and I had a fabulous holiday, enjoying all the places and sights that you had organised. You made everything so easy! … All the people that we met on your tour were so passionately engaged in what they were doing ,and in encouraging us to understand their passions, that all the places that we went are still vivid in my thoughts…. Again I would like to say how very special your tour was, and how very much we enjoyed all the things that we did.
Best wishes,
Judy (and Peter!) Buckley
12 Day Wildflower Tour
Sylvia organized a wildflower tour for 22 horticulturists from the West Coast of the United States three weeks ago. We couldn’t have been happier. All the details, including transportation, food and accommodation were taken care of and all we had to think of were the glories of the wildflowers as we wandered from Perth to Moora to Bremmer Bay to Busselton and back to Perth. It was so comfortable and carefree that we wish we could come back next year and do the whole trip over again. Sylvia is highly experienced and so responsive that anyone joining her tours would feel confident of having the best time.
Way To Go!
From the time we met the competent assured and friendly Sylvia we knew this would be a great trip – a real adventure from Perth to Broome for six friends from the East. Stops for Adventure and meals were well considered by our knowledgeable guide and sufficiently frequent to keep us all happy. The WA coast is of course a splendid adventure and when we dipped inland to savour the red rock chasms and spinifex of the Pilbara and Karijini we were impressed! Highlights of the journey were thoughtfully organised – Wooleen Station – Kalbarri – Monkey Mia – Ningaloo and WhaleSharks and spectacular chasms and rock pools. Sylvia knowledgeably directed our attention to items she had found were of interest to us such as birds and plants and our lists grew longer. Thanks Sylvia for a brilliant experience.
